So I am currently on day 3 of a recently popularized 'diet' trend (I use the term diet very loosely) known as Intermittent fasting. also known as time constricted eating. It became hugely popular by Hugh Jackman a couple years ago as he employed the diet to get in shape for his role of Wolverine in 'The Wolverine' (not Logan, he was old and chubbier in that one...hope those aren't the after effects...hmm) anyways i digress, for those who are unfamiliar with Intermittent fasting it is essentially constricting your eating period to a window of no more than 12 hours in a day...8 hours being optimal. the rest of the time, you guessed it, you're fasting. so if doing an 16/8 fast, you eat during 8 hours of the day and fast for the remaining 16. This is the option i've chose as it has a host of metabolic and physiological benefits that i've listed below in a neat little photo. (eye twinkle) I will be following this diet for the next the last quarter of 2017 eating only between the hours of 1 and 9 p.m. i feel 3 months is a significant amount of time to implement any change in diet/workout routine and be able to measure any significant changes in strength energy etc.
If you're wondering what i'm eating, I try to cut out dairy with the exception of yogurt as it has a plethora of probiotics and is damn tasty with some granola, fruit and a sprinkle of honey. I alternate that with oatmeal. Lots of chicken, tuna, protein power pancakes and salads.
